Paper Mosaic Portrait created for a POP art solo show in NY featuring celebrities, musicians and models.
As always, Sandhi starts with an original painting on canvas; and hand cuts hundreds or thousands of "tiles" from her collection of junk mail. Each piece of paper is cut to fit like a mosaic. This work also features silver metallic paper from upcycled holiday cards.
Chromatica portrays Lada Gaga. The edges of the work are painted and decorated with a mosaic of paper.
