Paper Mosaic Portrait created for a POP art solo show in NY featuring celebrities, musicians and models.
As always, Sandhi starts with an original painting on canvas; and hand cuts hundreds or thousands of "tiles" from her collection of junk mail. Each piece of paper is cut to fit like a mosaic. This piece also features an additional collage of paper flowers, small gem earrings and painted graphic elements.
Everything's Rosy portrays Frida Kahlo;  The edges of the work are painted and decorated with a mosaic of paper. Everything's Rosy was Ms. Kahlo's favorite lipstick shade!
