MacArthur's Park is a monumental work of paper mosaic, painting and collage that is truly one of a kind.
40x60W" on deep canvas, the striking "abstract landscape" was created using a variety of techniques exclusive to the artist. Inspired by Fritillaria meleagris, the checkered snake head lily once painted by Charles Rennie MacKintosh, Sandhi created various shapes using a checkerboard pattern, surround by half circles of squares, swirls and other dots.
This massive work is a one of a kind for Sandhi, who says:
"I don't think that I can take it
'Cause it took so long to make it
And I'll never have that recipe again, oh no..."
Lyrics from McArthur's Park, a song from long ago.
