As always, Sandhi starts with an original painting on canvas; and hand cuts hundreds or thousands of "tiles" from her collection of junk mail. Each piece of paper is cut to fit like a mosaic.
This is a portrait of Malala Yousafzai. Additional to the paper mosaic are pages from books, a passionate warrior for girls and women.
The edges of the work are painted and decorated with a mosaic of paper.
